Home GIS Courses GIS in Environmental and Natural Resource Management Training

Introduction

Environmental and natural resource management increasingly relies on spatial data and geospatial technologies to support sustainable decision-making. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) enable professionals to analyze environmental patterns, monitor natural resources, assess risks, and support conservation and policy initiatives.

This training equips participants with practical GIS skills to manage, analyze, and visualize environmental and natural resource data for planning, monitoring, conservation, and sustainable resource management.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply GIS concepts to environmental and natural resource management
  2. Manage and analyze environmental spatial datasets
  3. Perform spatial analysis for natural resource planning and monitoring
  4. Create professional maps for environmental reporting and decision-making
  5. Integrate GIS with remote sensing and field data
  6. Support evidence-based environmental policy and management
